Drama Volunteers
Worth the Wait is always recruiting volunteers for the next season. You must be high school age to college age in order to apply for team membership. No previous acting experience is required. You must be able to make the practices that begin in the fall. These practices will run once a week for seven weeks. As a team member you participate in two performances per month during the school year. If you apply, and are accepted to the team, a letter will be sent to your school to make them aware of your acceptance into the program. You are responsible for making up all work missed and for maintaining a good grade point average. You are required to provide your own transportation to the rehearsals, as well as transportation to either Salem Pregnancy, or the school in which you will be performing on the morning of performances. In some cases we may be able to get you back home, or to your school after the performances, as long as there is room in the van. Being a member of the team also means you are to be a positive role model in your community and that you promise to abstain from any kind of sexual activity while you are on the team. If you have already engaged in sexual activity, we encourage you to commit to secondary virginity, and by joining the team you will stay accountable to your renewed commitment of abstinence. This commitment is not anything you have to disclose to us, although we are always here to talk. We trust that you understand what is expected of you while you're on the team.

If you are interested in joining our team please download an application and mail it in, or you may fax it to 336-760-3674. You may also contact the Worth the Wait Director, Dottie Powers, if you have questions at 336-760-3680.

Medical Volunteers
We are always looking for qualified medical volunteers to join our WTW medical team. A medical volunteer will visit a school and teach an eighth grade class about STDs and the best way to prevent them. The best prevention is abstaining from sex until marriage to an uninfected partner. The class will be split up by gender and we match the medical volunteer with the same gender to insure that the students are comfortable talking and being open. We visit about 20 schools per year, so we need as many male and female volunteers as possible! If you are a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or a medical doctor with a heart for teens and for this cause, then you qualify to be a medical volunteer! You will be given a Power Point to follow which includes the information you are to cover. There will be a question and answer time with the students after the presentation.

If you are interested please contact the Worth the Wait Director at 336-760-3680.
